Bill Ferriterwferriter@hotmail.comRaleigh, North Carolina6th grade science and social studies 87http://currentlyspeaking.pbworks.comWe have a ton of mini-digital projects that we're working on at any one time. The most current project is a current events website where my students are working in groups with classes in Denmark. It's just getting off the ground now and the Danes haven't participated yet, but the thinking is that they will be starting this week.

We're also in the middle of a service learning bit where we're making loans through Kiva to entreprenuers in South America. We're planning on writing about our loans on our classroom blog soon---although that effort currently rests in the hands of our language arts teacher.

Finally, I'm expecting my kids to be starting common craft tutorials on science themes connected to the environment in the next few weeks as well. Those will probably be one of the main bits of work that we are focused on during the mentoring window you list above.

Maria Knee agearrings@gmail.comDeerfield New HampshireKindergarten17http://mariaknee.comThere is a class blog where updates are made about whole class activities. Each child has their own blog where they add writing and drawings. We have enjoyed our involvement with Dean's blogging mentors in the past. My students look forward to receiving comments to their blogs. Any connection you have to what the students are doing helps build the relationship. We try to set up a video skype call so we can "met" and feel more connected.

allanah.king@gmail.comNelson, New ZealandEverything- Year Four and Five 27http://www.moturoa.blogspot.comWe are getting into podcasting again as this is a fresh class unused the the ways of the cloud- although we are learning fast. We have just started a new school term that has nine more weeks to run. We are part of the Sylvia Tolisono's Skype project. We are heading into winter so getting ready to stay indoors and play on the web!

Not sure about what MST stands for as regards timing of online session but available for Skype sessions in your evening and our 2.30pm in the afternoons so some direct Skype contact would be feasible if the project were to proceed.

I've been attempting a blogging project with my grade six class (which I have by themselves from 9-11 am in the morning each day. I am a little stumped for topics and am finding that so much other "stuff" interferes with my teaching of ELA.

Also, my grade 5/6 class is studying Canada (grade 5 social studies since we alternate yearly). I am always looking for opportunities to get them to network with students in other schools and also to explain where they live to others.

The class website is in Blackboard, and not publicly accessable. I will have to get the school division to create usernames for the mentors. Email might be all that is necessary, and perhaps access to the students' individual blogs (Blogger)

My ideas so far are mostly mundane, suggesting topics for media logs, giving guidance on final project topics, and general over-shoulder watching, but I am totally open to suggestions.

http://fergs-class.wetpaint.com My students have been using the Wiki and other Web2.0 collaborative technologies all year. My ELA class also has a Ning that is private, where students blog and do group work.

This would be a great opportunity for them to hear someone's voice other than mine.

I was a Flat Classroom teacher for Flat Classroom 2009-1 recently with one of my 12th grade classes. My 9th grade class is currently participating in the latest round of Digiteen 09-2 http://digiteen09-2.flatclassroomproject.org/ and http://digiteen.ning.com/. I believe I actually used your keynote video from one of the older FC projects in my class this year.

I would be happy to open our classroom to your students, however end of the year timing may be an issue. My 9th grade class is still actively participating in Digiteen and will begin story boarding a video next week on Digital Citizenship and Anti-Cyberbullying that we will present to our school as part of a class action project on May 28th. Our last day of school is Thursday, June 4th, however, final exams ill be running 5/27 through 6/3 and there likely will not be much going on that week online. I could also take students into our teacher Elluminate meetings for this project if the timing is right.

My 12th grade classes are about to build their own interest group wiki utilizing sample types of propaganda and media bias we studied in class. The wikis will just start going up next week and your students may be able to comment students on the discussion tabs of the wiki, as there is no Ning for this project. This project can be found on the class wiki at http://problemsofdemocracy.wikispaces.com under the link "Interest Group Project". That page will not be completed with full instructions, however, until next week.

If we can be of any help, please let us know. I am no technology expert, by any means, but we try and use as much of it as we can in our Social Studies classes.

It's an online school:I teach fully online. Because of the nature of our school, the opportunities I can offer for mentorship involve assisting students in online tutorials, online meeting rooms, and in live classes. I would love to have keen students present a quick lesson on their part of Canada to my Geography of Canada students (using online whiteboards, voice, webcam, images, etc.).

This opportunity does involve scheduling time with students in a synchronous online environment.

http://berwicklodgeps.globalstudent.org.auI would like to be involved and will try to be available for online session but the time difference makes it difficult. We are GMT +10.
I have groups of students for ICT extension activities. The students are the ICT mentors for their class as well so some of the things we discuss are related to appropriate social behaviour, for example how to help others without being too pushy
